That Living Room

from Family Memories by Vincent Retg

/

lyrics

Here’s the living room in wood and clay
A table too big for myself
The yellow shelf and there crawl too many books

The dog is here with me at night
What a perfect picture : a companion when I write When I’m down
Too many songs were born in there Can’t explain what gives me these words and melodies
I never ask

I’m just a bag full of sorrow and full of regrets
And I don’t know what to do
I feel alone in the busiest crowd in the heart of London but who the hell are you people?

I’m unable to write something good
I’m just filling the lines
The notebook is almost full, I need a new

We’ll be together in a while
Do I feel special, simply glad ? It’s so difficult to say
Now, I should get going it’s late
The eyes are closing by themselves The living room is so quite
Where is the dog ?

I’m just a bag full of sorrow and full of regrets
And I don’t know what to do
I feel alone in the busiest crowd in the heart of London But who the hell are you people?
